The Carpal Tunnel is a narrow passageway of bone and libagments in the wrist.  The Median Nerve, which controls sensations in your fingers and some muscles in the hand, passes through this tunnel, along with some of the finger tendons.  Repeated motion or overuse of athe hand or wrist may cause the tendons to become inflamed and press the nerve against the bone.  This is known as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS).  Learn more about CTS, and other commond hand, wrist and arm dysfunctions, as well as contraindications and precautions to treatment.  With hands-on learning and practice, you will experience effective treatment applications, modalities and therapies that relieve painful to debilitating symptoms of CTS, and how to prevent it - from hydrotherapy, cryotherapy, infrared therapy, gentle energy to deep structural integrative massage techniques to patient self-care acupressure points, simple stretches, and self-care products.

Cupping is an ancient bodywork treatment found in medical traditions of Egypt and China, with the earliest recorded use found in the Yellow Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine of 2300 BC, as one of the major medical treatments of the time; and has also been found used and documented in medical traditions of the Native Americans, the Maya in the Yucatan, and Inca in South America, with records dating back 3,000 years.

Cupping is safe, inexpensive, and easy to learn, and provides a gentle to deep "reverse pressure" massage using still and moving cups to detox and relax, affecting the tissues up to four inches into the body.  Many massage therapists find that if "smashing" the muscles doesn't unlock tight tender muscle bundles and trigger points, Cupping will do the trick!  And it feels wonderful.  Your clients will be amazed at its effectiveness, and how good their skin looks and feels after treatments.

Plantar Fasciitis, also known as "policeman's heel," is a painful inflammatory condition caused by excessive wear to the plantar fascia or biomechanical faults that cause abnormal pronation of the foot.  Pain is usually felt on the underside of the heel, and is often most intense with the first steps of the day.  Commonly associated with jobs that require a lot of walking on hard surfaces, shoes with little or no arch support, or as a result of a heel spur on the calcaneus.  Learn more about Plantar Fasciitis and other painful to crippling foot conditions, contraindications and precautions to treatment.

Whiplash is most typically caused by the impact of a motor vehicle crash, but can also be the result of a blunt force object impacting the head or face, causing the cervical spine to "whip" back and forth, resulting in tension to excrutiating pain and immobility of the neck, shoulders, upper back to sacrum (the end of the "whip").  Whiplash may also include injury to the arms, wrists and hands when a steering wheel is tightly gripped, braced for impact, and may also include contusions to various parts of the body when it impacts parts of the vehicle (door, steering wheel, windshield, airbag, seatbelt) or flying objects in the vehicle.  Learn more about whiplash and what happens to the soft tissues, joints and bones, even in low-impact collisions, as well as contraindications and precautions to treatment.
