Cupping Massage (Weekend, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., 7 Hours)
Cupping is an ancient bodywork treatment found in medical traditions of Egypt and China, with the earliest recorded use found in the Yellow Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine of 2300 BC, as one of the major medical treatments of the time; and has also been found used and documented in medical traditions of the Native Americans, the Maya in the Yucatan, and Inca in South America, with records dating back 3,000 years.

Cupping is safe, inexpensive, and easy to learn, and provides a gentle to deep "reverse pressure" massage using still and moving cups to detox and relax, affecting the tissues up to four inches into the body.  Many massage therapists find that if "smashing" the muscles doesn't unlock tight tender muscle bundles and trigger points, Cupping will do the trick!  And it feels wonderful.  Your clients will be amazed at cupping's effectiveness, and how good their skin looks and feels after treatments.

Oxygen is removed from cups in a variety of ways, and quickly placed on the body, causing reverse pressure (suction), gently lifting the tissues, releasing adhesions, decreasing pain and stagnation in the body fluids and energetic flow, stimulating vasodilation, bringing healing nourishment of blood and lymph to the skin and soft tissues, and giving the skin a beautiful glow.  Cupping stimulates neuron paths, gently improving neuropathies and other neurological dysfunctions.  Cupping also engages the parasympathetic nervous system, quicky facilitating deep relaxation.

You will learn how to use the traditional cups found in Chinese and Mayan medicine; the new Soft-Cups from Russia, as well as the latest "vasopneumatic" technology we know in our profession as the Cupping Massage Machine.  You will also learn:

*Safe use of equipment
*Effects of cupping treatments
*Pain point techniques
*Flash cupping
*Moving/gliding cupping, and
*Contraindications
