In Ayurveda, the word "Shiro" means head, and the word "dhara" means stream.  This beautiful, deeply relaxing treatment involves pouring a stream of warm oil over the forehead.  Shirodhara is a powerful treatment for relieving mental stress and nervous tension.  Shirodhara deeply relaxes the nervous system as the brain waves slow down and become quiet.  When the brain is quieted, life energy, oxygen and nutrients flow more freely to the brain allowing for better brain function, lowered stress, improved memory, mood stability, and encourages sound sleep.  Allow 30 minutes for the Shirodhara.

A Shirodhara Massage includes a 30-minute Indian Head and Face Massage, which melts signs and symptoms of stress and tension, providing deep mental and physical relaxation.  Allow 60 minutes for a Shirodhara Massage.

A Shirodhara Swedana Massage includes a 30-minute full body steam (Swedana).  With the addition of a full-body Swedana, you will float away completely relaxed and rejuvenated head to toe.  Allow 90 minutes for a Shirodhara Swedana Massage .

A Basti consists of creating a fresh herbal dough that is placed at a specific area(s) and filled with a warm blend of herbalized oil (Basti) to enhance physical and emotional healing, and can be followed by a 30- to 60-minute body massage using the well oil.  For a complete Ayurvedic experience, top off your Basti Massage with a Full Body Swedana (herbal steam bath) to deeply relax, detox and melt away all signs of stress, tension and discomfort.  Delicious!

*Lotus Heart Basti.  A luxurious heart-opening experience.  The heart area is bathed in a Basti to open the heart to compassion and healing.

*Kati Basti.  A relaxing experience.  The low back area is bathed in a Basti to ease tension and held emotions.

*Shaki Basti.  The lower abdomen is bathed in a Basti to soothe anxiety, and assist with digestive and reproductive concerns.

A Swedana is a deeply healing, detoxifying full-body experience that will leave you completely relaxed and revitalized.  A specially-designed steam tent is placed over the massage table while you simply relax.  Your body is warmed with the steam, leaving your head exposed and kept cool with cold packs so that your body can accept higher heat.  The longer you can steam, the warmer the tent becomes, and the more toxins are extracted and washed away with the steam.  Adding herbs or aromatherapy can intensify the enjoyable detoxifying effects.
